Steven Bastien, a former University of Michigan standout representing Tracksmith, repeated as men's heptathlon champion with 5,886 points at the USATF Indoor Combined Events Championships at the Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center in Indianapolis. Bastien won last year with 6,012 points in Albuquerque, N.M. He is the first male competitor to titles in consecutive years since Jake Arnold won three in a row from 2008-10. Garrett Scantling won championships in 2020 and 2022, with the event not being held in 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
